Your Compounded Cream Prescription: What You Need to Know

  1. Prescription sent – We sent the compounded topical cream prescription written by your NP to UCC Pharmacy located in London, Ontario.
  2. Delivery confirmation
    • A signature is required when your medication is delivered. If the patient is unavailable, a family member may sign. If no one is home to accept the delivery, the medication will be sent to the nearest post office, where a signature will also be required for pickup.
    • If accessibility, transportation, or location may make this difficult, please contact UCC Pharmacy before delivery to discuss available options.
    • You will receive email updates at the address on file, allowing you to track your estimated delivery time.
  3. Using your cream: Follow the directions on your prescription label. Unless your NP advises otherwise, apply the cream to the affected area 4–6 times daily as needed. One pump is approximately one gram.
  4. Contact Spartan Wellness if:
    • Your health information changes or the cream is not effective. Treatment changes, including formula or strength adjustments, require an NP assessment.
    • You develop a rash, allergic reaction, or other concerning symptoms. Stop using the cream and contact our team for guidance.
    • You want to pause or stop treatment for any other reason.
  5. Contact UCC Pharmacy when you have questions about coverage, prescription processing, refills, shipments, or delivery.
  6. Coverage and payment: UCC will contact you to discuss private insurance and billing once they process your prescription.
    • Veterans: UCC Pharmacy will confirm your Medavie Blue Cross coverage and submit eligible claims directly. Once approved, the pharmacy will prepare your order and ship it to the address on your file. You may be responsible for any costs not covered by VAC.
  7. Refills and renewals: Authorized refills may be prepared and shipped automatically based on your prescription schedule. About one month before expiry, we will arrange an NP appointment to review coverage and renew your prescription.
  8. Ketamine cream coverage for Veterans: If ketamine cream is appropriate and you meet VAC coverage requirements, Spartan Wellness will include an authorization letter with your request. Once approved, the pharmacy will prepare your order and ship it to the address on your file. Please notice, VAC authorization is valid for one year.
