The Tema Foundation Education Day 2024 with sponsor Spartan Wellness, is a groundbreaking event focused on mental health education and awareness in the province of Ontario and Gold Sponsor for the Nova Scotia events.

The Tema Foundation Education Days events will feature a series of workshops, seminars, and presentations aimed at providing valuable information and resources to individuals, families, and communities struggling with mental health challenges. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field, participate in interactive discussions, and connect with others who share similar experiences.

The goal of the Tema Foundation Education Day is to promote understanding, reduce stigma, and encourage open dialogue about mental health issues. Join us for a day of learning, sharing, and empowerment as we work together to create a more supportive and inclusive community for all.

The TEMA Foundation develops evidence-based and informed educational curriculum in mental health and wellness. We can work with you to provide customized solutions that fit your unique needs.

Jamie MacWhirter with Spartan Wellness, a true inspiration for those on the journey to wellness and recovery. Jamie will be sharing his story at Tema Foundation Education Day, from his homecoming from Afghanistan to his work with Spartan Wellness and the great things he is doing to support those in need. Jamie will speak about his injury, his journey to wellness and recovery, along with the great things he is doing today for those in need.

Starting with his coming home from Afghanistan to sharing about his symptoms and what helped him through the journey of recovery. Most importantly Jamie will share how he talked to his kids about PTSD, the book he wrote on PTSD and the non-profit he started called PTSD Buddies. Jamie’s stories will make you cry and also make you laugh. Come on over b’y and have a laugh with Jamie the Newfoundlander.

Les travailleurs de première ligne sont des personnes qui fournissent des services directs et pratiques dans des environnements à haut risque ou critiques, notamment les infirmières, les médecins, les préposés aux services de soutien à la personne (PSSP), les agents correctionnels, les équipes de recherche et de sauvetage et le personnel SAR de la Garde côtière.

Qui considérons-nous comme un travailleur essentiel?

Les travailleurs essentiels contribuent au maintien des services essentiels, mais ne fournissent pas nécessairement des soins directs. Il s’agit notamment des équipes d’urgence, du personnel syndiqué des services essentiels et des personnes qui participent aux opérations vitales de recherche ou d’urgence.

Who We Consider a First Responder

First Responders are professionals trained to respond immediately to emergencies. This includes paramedics, firefighters, police officers, and emergency dispatchers who serve on the front lines of crisis situations.

Who We Consider a Frontline Worker​

Frontline Workers are individuals who provide direct, hands-on services in high-risk or critical environments — including nurses, physicians, personal support workers (PSWs), corrections officers, search and rescue teams, and Coast Guard SAR personnel.

Who We Consider an Essential Worker

Essential Workers help maintain critical services but may not provide direct care. This includes emergency crew workers, unionized essential service staff, and those supporting vital search or emergency operations.
