At Spartan Wellness, community is one of our core keystones—and the Community Care Squad is one way we bring that community to life. We’re incredibly grateful to our volunteers whose dedication drives our mission forward. Your time, energy, and passion will help support special events and expand our impact across the region. 

From community events to outreach initiatives, we count on volunteers all year long to support our Community Care Squad.  

We actively recruiting in the following locations: 

Ontario: Kingston, Mississauga, Ottawa, Toronto, Trenton 

British Columbia: Burnaby, Kelowna, Surrey, Vancouver, Victoria 

Alberta: Calgary, Edmonton 

New Brunswick: Fredericton, Oromocto 

Quebec: Montreal 

Newfoundland and Labrador: St. John’s

What to Expect as a Spartan Wellness Community Care Squad Volunteer

Your efforts help build a stronger, healthier community through connection, support and shared experience. Gain knowledge, build new skills, and gain valuable experience supporting virtual healthcare and creating community connections across Canada.

Your involvement helps create welcoming spaces where veterans, first responders, essential workers and frontline professionals can connect, learn and access supportive care.

Volunteers help support in-person and virtual events, including:

  • Community outreach and education events
  • Online wellness sessions and webinars
  • Event coordination and participant support


You should apply if:

  • You’re 19 or older and have experience or interest in community or virtual events
  • A background or interest in health, wellness or psychology
  • Looking to increase your knowledge in virtual and holistic care
  • Able to commit up tor 2-3 events per year, evenings & weekends available

Qui considérons-nous comme un premier intervenant?

Les premiers intervenants sont des professionnels formés pour réagir immédiatement aux situations d’urgence. Il s’agit notamment des ambulanciers paramédicaux, des pompiers, des policiers et des répartiteurs d’urgence qui interviennent en première ligne dans les situations de crise.

Qui considérons-nous comme un travailleur de première ligne?

Les travailleurs de première ligne sont des personnes qui fournissent des services directs et pratiques dans des environnements à haut risque ou critiques, notamment les infirmières, les médecins, les préposés aux services de soutien à la personne (PSSP), les agents correctionnels, les équipes de recherche et de sauvetage et le personnel SAR de la Garde côtière.

Qui considérons-nous comme un travailleur essentiel?

Les travailleurs essentiels contribuent au maintien des services essentiels, mais ne fournissent pas nécessairement des soins directs. Il s’agit notamment des équipes d’urgence, du personnel syndiqué des services essentiels et des personnes qui participent aux opérations vitales de recherche ou d’urgence.

Who We Consider a First Responder

First Responders are professionals trained to respond immediately to emergencies. This includes paramedics, firefighters, police officers, and emergency dispatchers who serve on the front lines of crisis situations.

Who We Consider a Frontline Worker​

Frontline Workers are individuals who provide direct, hands-on services in high-risk or critical environments — including nurses, physicians, personal support workers (PSWs), corrections officers, search and rescue teams, and Coast Guard SAR personnel.

Who We Consider an Essential Worker

Essential Workers help maintain critical services but may not provide direct care. This includes emergency crew workers, unionized essential service staff, and those supporting vital search or emergency operations.
